Welcome to the FSANZ portal for notifying established food-health relationships. This portal enables electronic notification to the FSANZ Chief Executive Officer of the details of a relationship between a food or property of food and a health effect, that has been established by a process of systematic review.
Schedule 6 of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code describes what qualifies as a process of systematic review.
Sections 1.2.7—18 and 1.2.7—19 provide that, if a general level health claim is made, the person responsible for making the claim is required to:
notify the Chief Executive Officer of FSANZ of the details of a food-health relationship that has been established by a process of systematic review
provide the name and address of the person making the notification
certify that the food-health relationship has been established by a process of systematic review as described in Schedule 6 of the Code
consent to the publication by FSANZ of the name and address of the person making the notification and the details of the food-health relationship.
